Beta Iota Zeta Chapter History:

 

In 1994, 7 Finer Women in Bloomington, IL had the desire to establish  a graduate chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. to continue the principles of Scholarship, Service, and Sisterly Love beyond the Illinois State University campus.  They were: Shwanda (Riley) Cross, Lolita Watkins, Rashawn (Matthews) Smith, LaGreta Hudson, Kristian “Krissie” Harris, Denise (Bausley) Nelson, and Pamela Hart

 

Beta Iota Zeta Chapter was chartered on April 23, 1994 at the 1994 Great Lakes Regional Conference held at the

Wyndham Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

 

As these woman began to serve the community in the spirit of Finer Women, they attracted women of like mind and character.  The first women initiated into the chapter were Angelyn Anderson, Paula Collins, and Willie Holton Halbert as part of Z.S. G.T.E. on 9/23/1995
